The Schnyder Piano Trio celebrated its debut on February 4, 2012 at the Zurich Tonhalle with Schubert’s Piano Trio No. 2 in E flat major and a minute-long standing ovation.

Andreas Janke, 1st Concertmaster of the Tonhalle-Orchestra Zurich, studied in Salzburg with Igor Ozim and the Hagen Quartet. He is a es teemed prizewinner at prestigious international competitions such as Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, Fritz Kreisler Competition in Vienna, Benjamin Britten competition in London and the Prague Spring competition. Andreas Janke toured throughout Europe and Japan and appears as a soloist and chamber musician at major festivals and concert halls.
Benjamin Nyffenegger, Associate Principal Cellist of the Tonhalle-Orchestra Zurich, studied with Walter Grimmer and Thomas Grossenbacher in Zurich. In 2003 he was granted a scholarship for the Aspen Festival and School by conductor David Zinman. A winner of several national and international competitions, Benjamin Nyffenegger is regularly invited to prestigious festivals and is the cellist in the Julia Fischer Quartet.
Oliver Schnyder studied with Emmy Henz-Diémand and Homero Francesch in Switzerland and with Leon Fleisher in the United States. Oliver Schnyder is pursuing a global concert career and is one of the most sought-after pianists of his generation. He appears on all major concert venues around the world and performs with leading orchestras such as the Philharmonia Orchestra, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Tonhalle-Orchestra Zurich and WDR Cologne alongside conductors such as Philippe Jordan, David Zinman, Semyon Bychkov and Mario Venzago.
He is is the most important Swiss pianist currently recording very successfully under the RCA Sony label. The trio will release its first CD with the two Schubert Piano Trios at year end 2012.
